I have enabled rich text copy paste (such as the following quote was copy pasted without any manual editing) and other optional features described in the blog post above and they are ready to use in our own Discourse community.

Discourse natively supports basic bbcode, HTML, and of course Markdown. When pasting content into the composer, we’ll now attempt to convert what is in your clipboard to native Markdown on your behalf!
