Graduate Council Announcements :

Social Committee

The Graduate Council Social Committee organizes large-scale social events for UChicago graduate students across all divisions with the intent to foster a sense of community, encourage cross-division conversation, and have fun. Our next event will be a Pub Social at the Pub in Ida Noyes, from 4-7 PM on Thursday, October 25th. Students will be provided with two free frosty beverage tickets, and pizza will be served. (ID required.)

Our capstone event this year will be the Gargoyle Gala to be held at the Museum of Science and Industry, on Friday, November 30th. Stay tuned for further details!

To keep track of all of our events, please follow our Facebook page and check the Grad Council website.

If you are interested in joining the committee and help with running and planning events, please reach out directly to annabeth.gellman@chicagobooth.edu (@annabeth.gellman).

Community Events

We recognize that sometimes it is difficult to meet grad students in other divisions, despite our many shared experiences. Community events are designed to foster and deepen relationships outside of the classroom, lab, or bar. Community events come in a wide range of categories including the arts, volunteering, sports events, lectures, and just plain fun! If you’re interested in attending an event or have ideas for events to lead we’d love for you to get involved! Leading an event can be as simple as passing out tickets and organizing dinner to as involved as leading a class in an activity or topic that you’re passionate about.

To start, please fill out this poll to join our listserv to be aware of upcoming events. If you’re interested in leading an event or have ideas for events please don’t hesitate to email Katrina at kmaxcy@uchicago.edu (@kmaxcy) so we can make them happen!
